Get ready for Holiday Homes Tour 2013

Okay, my friends, it’s that time of year again: Time to organize the 6th annual Holiday Homes Tour.

This is a virtual tour — you’ll post photos of your decorations on your blog, then we all will click over to ooh and ahhhhh over your festive spirit.

Show us all how you decorate for the holidays at your domicile.  Do you have a huge tree or a petite one or none at all?  Are you a traditionalist or a modernist? Do you prefer white lights or colored ones?

This year, the big day is Friday, December 20Last year’s was a lot of fun, so I hope a great many of you will participate this year.

All you have to do to include your home in the tour is:

  • Leave a comment on this post by Wednesday, December 18 telling me that you are participating. (If your comment doesn’t pop up immediately, email me. A lot of these comments are ending up in the spam filter because of the blog links.)
  • If you also want to leave a short description of your decorating style, I’ll include it with your blog info on the big day.
  • Mark your calendar and remember to put together your post in time. This part is really important. Every year, there are several people who say they’ll participate, but then they don’t get around to it. So please, pretty please, follow through.

Easy, no?

If you don’t have a blog but still want to participate, leave a comment and we’ll find a way to make it happen.

Are you excited? I am! I finally made a dent in our decorating yesterday, so it’s starting to look festive around Jenworld.

(And clean, too. Because you can’t decorate a dirty house, amiright?)

I’m looking forward to doing some virtual sightseeing, so sign up today!

  3. Catherine says:

Im in again :-) This should get me motivated to actually decorate. .. it’s the first year I haven’t had anything up on the 1st of Dec…..

  4. Patience says:

I’m in! I don’t have a link yet. I am hoping we’ll get some decorating done today.

  5. I am in. This year my daughter is coming home early enough to help decorate. Hoping for a fun, new take on our usual colorful decor!

  6. I don’t know if I can do it this year. I’d like to… but I don’t know if I can manage it.
Pester me in the final week (if that’s not too much to ask… and I suspect that it probably is too much to ask) and I’ll let you know.

  7. I would like to try this. I guess you could call my decoration style minimalist and homespun.

  8. ~zandra~ says:

Oooh, how fun! I’m a new reader and this sounds like a great idea! I’m in. My style would simply be “Christmas Explosion!” or, you know, hodge-podge :)

  9. Mrs. G says:

I’ve already shared my best decorative attempts but I can’t wait to see others!

  10. Jenny says:

I wait to decorate, if possible, until Hanukkah is over. And I don’t really want a tree until a few days or a week before the Big Day. So far I have an apothecary jar with red, white, and green gumdrops.
